Job Title: Title I Academic Tutor
Reports to: Campus Principal
Dept./School: Assigned Campus Title I
Wage Status: Per Hour
Pay Grade: Temporary/Part-Time
Days: TBD
Primary Purpose: Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups. Work under supervision of certified teacher or administrator. This position is Title I funded.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as completion of 48 semester hours or equivalent trimester hours) of college coursework (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with students
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience: Some experience working with students
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups.
- Collect and maintain data regarding student work and progress
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Equipment Used: Personal or laptop computer, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, electronic mobile devices, and other instructional technology
Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
