Primary Purpose:

 

Help special education teacher provide for physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in special education setting. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instuction programs. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of cerified teacher.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with children with disabilities

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to follow berbal and written instuctions

Knowledge of general office equipment

 

Experience:

Some experience working with children

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances and integrating into different school environments. Occasionally work prolonged and irregular hours.
