Primary Purpose:
The Student Teachers, Observers, Methods is a temporary, supervised position designed to provide aspiring educators with hands-on teaching experience in a K-12 classroom setting. Under the guidance of a cooperating teacher, the student teacher will develop and refine instructional practices, classroom management skills, and professional competencies while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:
Enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Passion for education and commitment to fostering student success.

Deadline:
All Student Teachers, Observers, Methods must complete and submit online Field Experience for 24-25 (Student Teachers, Observers, Methods) each semester.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to contact campus administration and request field location opportunity at that location.
  • Candidates’ responsibility to schedule the field experience activities with the campus principal or the designee.
  • Support the cooperating teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom
  • environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum under the supervision of the cooperating teacher.
  • Work closely with the cooperating teacher and school staff to align instructional practice.
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials and managing classroom resources

Working Conditions:
Regularly sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequent repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds; occasionally required to stand, walk reach with hands and arms; vision abilities include close vision; and color vision, regularly work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress; the noise level is usually moderate.
